Though these posters are slight variation on the pictures released a while back that’s not such a bad thing because they’re just so damn gorgeous. If you didn’t think Hugh Jackman was a hunk already, these posters should have no problem converting you. If they don’t, then you just might not have a sexual bone in your body. Heck, I’d usually never cheat on my affections for Zooey Deschanel, but hell if I don’t wish I were the one kissing him in the rain or licking his hands like that fire. Okay, maybe not that last part. Hand licking is just plain weird. My apologies to any hand fetishists who may read this blog, but it’s just a fact. Just like it’s a fact that AUSTRALIA is going to be the prettiest thing to prey on your eyes since Amy Adams.
For those of you wondering what the heck Baz Luhrmann has been doing since MOULIN ROUGUE, all I can say is: ta da! Okay, okay, you probably need more than that. According to /Film, his newest project, AUSTRALIA is a “period epic film [that]stars Nicole Kidman as Lady Sarah Ashley, an English aristocrat, who is left in control of a cattle station in Australia during World War II. An Australian drover played by Hugh Jackman, with whom she becomes romantically interested, helps to drive the cattle across the property as they are under the threat of nearby Darwin being bombed. “ Anyone else think this sounds like a WW II Australian version of the John Wayne/Montgomery Clift western, RED RIVER? Anyway, given that we’re dealing with Luhrman, it should come as no surprise that the film is going to be super pretty, as you will see when you check out the recently released production stills after the jump.
