How Did Megan Fox Become a Movie Star?

July 21st, 2008

Okay, so that may be a rhetorical question because I know exactly how Megan Fox became a movie star. It’s right here:

It’s just with Megan Fox seemingly all over these days in gossip columns and movie news (TRANSFORMERS 2 probably helps that), I’m left perpetually wondering why she’s there in the first place. Is being hot, displaying that hotness with aesthetic zeal in one movie scene, and having that scene be part of a mega-successful summer blockbuster all it takes to make someone famous these days? Actually, in her case I think it’s just being hot. Because it certainly isn’t her past credits (before TRANSFORMERS it’s mostly TV work, the longest being “Hope & Faith”) or her so far limited displays of talent.

I’m not even sure I think she’s all that hot. She is attractive and has a sculpted body, there’s no doubt about that, but to me she’s one of those women who has that form of beauty that just comes off as fake. Her looks are almost too sculpted, too good looking. She looks – to for once judge a book by its cover – like a ditzy, superficial, purportedly horny bimbo. Interviews with her have done little to dissuade me of that pre-judgment.

That in turns leaves me continually wondering perhaps not how Megan Fox became a star, but rather why.
