In terms of taking the time to give the moviegoer a full and compelling origin story, it ranks right up there with BATMAN BEGINS and just above SPIDER-MAN. I totally agree; I'm just glad I'm far from alone. Anyway, I agree that Iron Man was great. Overall, I'd say it's better than X-Men 2 and approximately even with the the other two. I think I'll have to see it again too to compare more precisely. Specifically in terms of writing, however, Iron Man is the best written superhero movie ever. The performances, particularly that of Robert Downey Jr., are top notch too.
