Why and How Will You Be Seeing TWILIGHT?
November 20th, 2008

With TWILIGHT hitting theatres this Friday, those sick of hearing and reading about it 24/7 will finally be able to see the movie face its do or die moment. There seems to be little doubt it will make big money opening weekend, which of course means many of you are probably checking it out. For those of you who are, I’m curious to hear from everyone how and why you are seeing it.
Are you a fan of the novels and want to see how the movie turned out? Do you know nothing about the books but think this vampire Romeo and Juliet looks like a good time in the theatre? Are you just curious to see what everyone else is getting so excited about?
Are you going alone? Are you letting a girlfriend drag you? Are you using that as an excuse to cover up that you really want to see it? Are you getting together with a bunch of fellow fans of the novels and seeing it together so you can scrutinize every little details?
For the mutually curious, I’ve already talked about my reasons for why I want to see it. As for how, thankfully my friend’s girlfriend – who has also read the novels – came to my rescue. It’s not that I needed a reason/person to justify wanting to see it, it’s that this way I’ll be a little less afraid of the possible mobs opening Friday if I have someone I know to protect me.
Update: If you want to see it, but need some good excuses to do so and counter any potential embarrassment, VideoHound comes (hilariously) to the rescue.

Since weekends are boyfriend time and no amount of saying the word “vampire” will convince my boyfriend to see this movie (especially since he already thinks I have an unhealthy vampire obsession right now) I will probably be going to some matinee next week with my roommate. Unless all first report say it sucks, then I will be waiting for netflix to deliver it to my door sometime in February so that we can watch it and groan and make snarky comments to cover the fact that we are still really interested in seeing it despite bad reviews.
