There are so many to choose from! The parts that consistently made me laugh all three times I saw it in theaters were his interactions with his robot. Threatening to donate him to a community college. Classic.

Also, I’m a poor college student with an unhealthy movie addiction. If I win the movie I won’t have to choose between Iron Man and food because we all know which direction that one is going to go.

courtney Says:

I love the beginning of the movie, especially when Stark is building the first suit and escapes from the cave. This was such a great movie, probably #2 of the summer for me, right behind Batman.

Linda B. Says:

I think the best part of Iron Man was Robert Downey’s performance. He added just the right amount of cockiness, humor, and cool to the role of Tony Stark. Perfect casting.

Rob Says:

Without discrediting Jon Favreau, it’s obvious that Robert Downey Jr. MADE this movie the instant classic it now is. However that is not exactly a ‘part’, more like the most crucial ‘element’ of the film’s success.

For me the best part is a gorgeous sequence where Tony first gets to test out the Mark 3’s weapons in a live combat situation. No one tells him to or would judge him otherwise, but he can’t stand to see innocents being terrorized on TV when he knows he has the power to stop it. He lands in the Middle East, and begins f*@king people up! It is one of those moments where the CGI blends with the practical in such a way that you can’t tell exactly how they shot any of it. The movement of the armor in combination with the sound effects of the suit gives me chills. The sequence ends with him sniping like 8 dudes at once without hitting a single civilian. SO SICK! Iron Man was one of my favorite characters growing up and so few people really knew who he was. Now the world understands what I felt all those years ago. Once I own this I will be watching that scene in slow motion over and over. Now that the origin is out of the way, the second film should be filled with more moments like the one I am talking about here.

SEEING WHAT ALL THE HYPE IS ABOUT

My favorite part is the end of the movie (not the post-credits scene) when he’s doing his press conference and essentially says, “Screw it, forget secrets, it was me.” It completely embodied his character and tweaked traditional superhero-dom in a good-natured way.

Klo Says:

The sheer awesomeness of watching Stark design and build the Mark 2 was my favorite part. Too bad the economy is not based on engineering. We could throw Stark in a room with an abacus and he would have the situation solved in a couple of hours.

Steve Satterlee Says:

I have not seen Iron Man yet, but as a kid I do remember reading the comic books. Loved to go down to the corner store and buythose comic books with my hard earned money delivering papers. I would wear those comic books thin by readin them over and over and sharing with my buddies. I really enjoyed his fights with Crimson Dynamo. Growing up in the Cold War, it was always great to see Stark (Iron Man) beat up and win over the Commie.

LisaB Says:

I’m looking forward to finding out why both Ellen Degeneres and Alex Huls highly recommend this movie!

Maria P. Says:

I haven’t seen it yet - but I’m looking forward to just the whole film. I love the “comic/superhero” type films. Thanks for the giveaway!

Matthew Says:

I loved so many things: they mostly all center on how true I thought it was to the comic book itself; but if I had to pick one defining moment, I would have to say it was the moment you saw the suit painted red and gold for the very first time.

That was an ultimate fanboy moment.

R Dub Says:

Three Moments

1. The look on Tony’s face when, after the young men and women who were protecting him have been killed (Jeeps been blown up) and he’d run and ducked for cover, he sees the missile that lands not five feet away from him is stamped with Stark Industries right on the side. Moment of duel horror - the’ oh eff I know what that does and I’m awfully close to it’ horror and of course, the ‘my work should not have just killed these people’ horror. Amazing.

2. Stripper pole on the private jet plane, anyone?

3. Nick. effing. Fury. I squealed like the little schoolgirl that I am. Except I’m actually rather tall and no longer go to school. You know what I mean.

Geri Says:

The construction of the suit and the first flight sequence were awesome!

Sean Says:

My favorite scene is when Gweneth’s character is helping fix Stark’s heart transplant. It’s a great scene between the two and really helps develop their relationship.

Awesome movie all the way around.

Owen Says:

“Yeah. I can fly.”
In that moment I saw the Tony Stark I’ve always wanted to see on screen. Cocky, but genuinely surprised by himself. How Robert Downey Jr. manages to make the character so confident but also like a little kid playing with his toys impressed me to no end.

Anthony E Says:

The scene where Tony Stark corners the bad guys or terrorists cronies into the cave. If you look closely Tom Morrello the guitar player from “Rage Against the MACHINE” is one of the guys with a guy. As an odd avid movie buff I loved that scene also for the fact that Jon Favrau also featured Tom M in his first directing attempt of MADE. That little thing oddly enough was my favorite scene. Plus it was strange the guitar player for Rage MACHINE getting beat up BY a MACHINE. It was an odd comedy dorky thing that no one got. I LOVE IT. Second favorite scene, “Yeah, I’m IRONMAN.” To the reporter, he sits frozen. Greatness.

Beth Says:

I have not seen this yet. I look forward to seeing this because everyone is raving about it and it’s cool when they turn comic books into films.

josh c Says:

I still haven’t seen the movie yet but, I’m really excited to see Robert Downey Jr’s performance. I have heard so much about it. I haven’t seen him in much so I guess now is better than ever. Also, the effects look really great compared to some superhero movies

Dawn Says:

I saw Iron Man for the first time this past weekend. I actually saw it twice. It was a fantastic movie and really wish I had seen it at the movie theatre on the big screen.

My favorite part. Call me sentimental, but I really enjoyed the Chemistry between Downey and Paltrow. Their scenes where they each had some emotions for each other. Okay, a bit mushey. I really enjoyed the scenes when he went back to teh area he was held cptive and whipped up on the bad guys and saved the boys father. Then on his way home, he “accidently” took down the jet and then saved the pilot. Great movie.
